Application Process
Applications have recently closed for all candidates. Arvada Police Department anticipates openings will occur in the future. Check back to this website for future postings.
Eligible candidates are those
- with a bachelor's degree interested in becoming a police officer
- lateral candidates, and
- Colorado POST-certified officers.
When there are openings, applications are accepted on-line and also from the City of Arvada Human Resources Department, 8101 Ralston Road, Arvada, CO 80001.
Police candidates must complete an application from the City of Arvada web site at https://arvada.ats.hrsmart.com/cgi-bin/a/alljobs.cgi or by clicking the View All Jobs link below. Select the police officer position, which will lead to the application process.
All information must be completed on the forms. Applications may be rejected if application is incomplete or if partial packets are submitted. All applicants should read the disqualifications page for anything that might eliminate their eligibility.
The City of Arvada requires that all police officer applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in any field of study. This is a mandatory requirement for hire as an Arvada police officer.
The Department will accept applications from college seniors in their final semester of their degree program. A letter from the dean of the school stating the candidates expected graduation date must accompany the application.
