Arvada Police Release Name of Suspects in Week-end Shooting

 (Arvada, CO) – The Arvada Police released today the names of the two suspects in a weekend shooting.

The suspects are Maksim Khamov (DOB 11/28/90), identified as the driver of the suspect vehicle (pictured) and Igor Skolev (12/11/90) as the suspect in the passenger seat who is deceased.

 

Arvada Police responded to an attempted homicide call. The two suspects allegedly opened fire on a vehicle with four people with whom they had an earlier verbal altercation at a bar in Westminster, Colorado. One of the bullets struck the victims’ car. In the attempt to apprehend the armed suspects, officers fired shots.  

 

The driver continued to try and elude police and fled the scene. The vehicle was located again approximately 40 minutes later in the 8600 block of West 62nd Avenue. Both suspects were in the vehicle. One was deceased and the other was taken into custody. Officers also recovered the handgun that was suspected to have been used in the attempted homicide.

 

Jefferson County Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) is investigating the officer-involved shooting. As per standard operating procedure, the officers involved in the shooting have been placed on paid administrative leave pending the investigation. The Arvada Police will also conduct an internal review following the CIRT investigation to ensure officers followed department policies and procedures.
