Church Burglaries Reported in Arvada, Northglenn Since Late 2008

Two church burglaries occurring in Arvada over the weekend of August 28th appear to be connected to more than a dozen similar crimes reported since late last year.

The two Arvada church burglaries took place late Friday, August 28 or early Saturday, August, 29. The incidents were located at the Slavic Christian Church and Arvada Mennonite Church. It was also the second time each of these churches has been hit by thieves.

The exact method of entry is being withheld because it's an investigative key. In many of the cases, the suspect(s) stole money and/or valuables.

Investigators are working with metro area police departments to determine if there are similar incidents in other jurisdictions.

Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the person(s) responsible for these crimes. Anyone with information about the cases should call Det. Heivilin with the Arvada Police Department at 720-898-6733 or Northglenn Police Department Det. Danielson at 303-450-8980.

Citizens who live near churches are asked to report any suspicious people at these locations, especially in the late-night hours.
