Elderly Woman Killed in Auto-Pedestrian Accident
Arvada Police continue to investigate a fatal auto/pedestrian accident that occurred in the area of 64th and Oak Street just before 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2011.
Police were called to the 10900 block of West 64th Avenue because a pedestrian had been struck by the driver of a car traveling eastbound on W. 64th Avenue.
The pedestrian, a 74-year-old Arvada woman, was crossing 64th Avenue mid block. She was outside of the crosswalk, and was subsequently hit by a 54-year-old female driver of a 2008 Subaru Outback.
The victim, Tamara I. Zhovmiruk, age 74, was sent to Saint Anthony's Hospital Central where she was pronounced deceased.
The investigation revealed that alcohol and speed were not factors in the accident.
The investigation is on-going at this time.
