Jogger Struck in Auto-Pedestrian Accident in Olde Town
Arvada Police are investigating an auto/pedestrian accident that occurred at West 59th Avenue and Olde Wadsworth Blvd. just before 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, January 25, 2011.
The driver of a passenger van was turning south on Olde Wadsworth Blvd. when he allegedly collided with a 51-year-old Arvada man who was out jogging with his dog.
Arvada Fire extricated the pedestrian who was pinned under a tire of the vehicle. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening, but serious injuries.
Police do not suspect alcohol as a factor in this incident. Police issued a summons to the 46-year-old driver of the van for obstructed view and careless driving resulting in injury.
