Mercury Found at Arvada Engineering Company

Arvada police were called to Dairy Engineering at 5783 Sheridan on a report of a hazardous material situation at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2010.

A 55-year-old male employee reported that a substance had "dripped" onto his face from his office phone. A Hazmat crew later identified the substance as the element mercury.

No one was taken to the hospital as a result of the situation.

An investigation of the incident is underway.
