Officer Engdahl becomes School Resource Officer

In the Fall of 2005, Officer Engdahl became the School Resource Officer for Ralston Valley High School.

Officer Engdahl says that the best part of his assignment is its ability to interact with the kids.  "They get to see that the police officers do not just write tickets and arrest people." Some of the best parts of his day are when the kids come by his office "just to talk."

In addition to his regular duties at the school, SRO Engdahl attends school sporting events, the students' band performances, and choir concerts. Blaine comments, "When they see me in those other settings, they realize that this is more than just a job to me."

RVHS Staff member comments

A Ralston Valley staff member wrote “Blaine has integrated himself fully in the RVHS community by showing an interest in our students and staff beyond his law enforcement role.

Although officially an employee of the City of Arvada, Officer Engdahl is thought of by Ralston Valley students and staff as a member of the RVHS family.”
