GREETERS

§ Does require checking with references

§ In conjunction with the changes in Records, the Police Lobby will be open to the public during normal work hours Monday thru Friday.

§ We anticipate citizens will use those doors to enter the building for a variety of needs such as paying water bills, getting permits, needing police assistance etc.

§ We want to establish a team of "GREETERS" who would sit at an "information station" in the Police Lobby to greet visitors and direct them to the appropriate department.

§ Depending on how many people we can recruit, we can set the hours and days to accommodate personal needs but are striving for only 2-4 hours per "shift" per week (or as the "team" would desire).

§ Additionally, we are discussing if we would furnish a shirt or vest or some type of "uniform" for the volunteers.

ONGOING

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

11/20/09 until completion

Requested by: Sgt. Grisham, Investigations

TASK: Visit the businesses listed below to

1) Gain permission and a firm commitment to install signs on the property. The signs promote safe practices to avoid vehicle break-ins/theft

2) Identify someone within the business to actually complete the installation

These are metal signs and they are pre-drilled so they can easily be bolted to an existing sign pole, screwed to a wall, etc. Public works would probably complete the install if the property owner cannot

3) Make a log of who is contacted at which businesses so we can have some documentation on who authorized the installation.

  • Old Towne Theatres
  • Home Depot
  • Red Robin
  • Lone Star restaurant
  • Savannah Suites Hotel
  • YMCA
  • 24-Hour Fitness
  • Bennetts Bar-B-Que
  • Petsmart
  • Texas Roadhouse
  • RTD Park N Ride
  • US on Wheels

TIMEFRAME: Volunteers, please note that the first batch of signs have been taken care of and we are waiting for approval to purchase more so the installation of the signs is a future need but gaining permission for the installation can be done now.

CONTACT: Karen Graves, kgraves@arvada.org if interested
