Arvada Police partner with Drug Enforcement Agency for
Fall 2013 Drug Take Back
Arvada, Colorado – The Arvada Police Department has again teamed up with the Drug Enforcement Administration for its bi-annual Drug Take Back event. The next Drug Take Back will take place on Saturday, October 26 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Arvada Police Department’s parking lot (8101 Ralston Rd.).
When over-the-counter or prescription medications are expired or no longer needed, they should be removed from the home. Many people believe that the best way to dispose of unused or expired medications is to flush them down the toilet. However, this pollutes our waterways and adversely affects wildlife and plant life along our streams and rivers.
The Drug Take Back program gives residents a safe way to dispose of these types of medication and participation is easy. Simply gather up your unused, unwanted and expired medications and bring them to the Arvada Police Department parking lot, where you can drive up, dispose and drive away.
Some of the items that can be collected include prescription medications, over the counter medications, vitamins, pet medications or lotions. A complete list of items that can be collected is available at http://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/drug_disposal/takeback/.
