Arvada Police Web Site Offers Expanded Services

The Arvada Police Department’s web site has undergone a complete transformation, offering visitors improved online services, additional ways to get involved in their community, and information about police programs through text, images and video clips.

One of the most significant additions to the web site is the ability to not only order a police report online, but also report some types of crimes.

"One of the primary goals in improving the police department’s web site was to ensure citizens could conduct more business from the comfort of their own homes," said Commander Gary Creager of the Arvada Police Department. "Although we always have an officer available to talk directly with a citizen, the objective of the project was to provide site visitors with numerous options."

The new site offers an expanded crime map component, allowing residents to track crime occurring in their neighborhoods, or to get a glimpse of crime patterns throughout the city.

Other features of the site include:

  • "Most Wanted" gallery for Arvada criminal offenders.
  • Cases of interest to monitor high profile criminal investigations.
  • Web streaming of the latest episode of ‘Cop Talk,’ the department’s monthly television program.
  • Apply for a job with the police department.
  • Ask-A-Cop for questions about the police department.
  • Contact one of the department’s School Resource Officers.
  • Crime prevention tips on a variety of topics.
  • Check the nation’s terror alert level.

"I believe visitors to www.arvadapd.org will experience an innovative site filled with information specifically catered to meet their needs in this ever-changing electronic age," said Chief Ron Sloan. "I invite residents to look at the crime maps in addition to the comprehensive information available on the site to learn how the Arvada Police Department can work collaboratively to better serve the community."
