Do you watch C.S.I on television? What about the long-running COPS show on Fox? If so, you may want to consider registering for the Arvada Police Department’s Citizen Academy beginning March 7, 2007.

The CPA is a 10-week class that meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. at the Arvada Police Department.

Topics such as criminal investigations, accident investigations, traffic stops, crime lab, officer survival and many other topics are covered during the sessions.

“The Citizen Police Academy is designed to give community members a better understanding of what police officers do everyday, and to encourage partnership between the department and the community,” said Sgt. Aaron Jacks who is the coordinator of the program.
