The Arvada Police Department has received numerous calls regarding flyers posted on the doors of dozens of Arvada homes in recent days. The information alerts residents abut a sex offender living in the neighborhood.

The notice lists a web site, which when accessed, asks the visitor to pay for the City's sex offender list.

These flyers are part of the promotion of a private business. The Arvada Police Department does not endorse this site.

The official Sex Offender list for the City of Arvada is available at no charge. Anyone interested in obtaining the free list can visit the Arvada Police Department (Records Unit), 8101 Ralston Road, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to obtain the information.

Similar flyers have been placed in the cities of Broomfield and Thornton and in Jefferson County in recent weeks.
