Warrant Issued for Arvada Murder Suspect; Two Others Arrested
Arvada Police believe a suspect wanted for the murder of an Arvada man in early July may be in the area of Buckeye, Arizona, and ask the public’s help in locating this individual.
Richard “Ricky” Frank Regalado (DOB: 11/25/77) has a warrant issued from Jefferson County, Colorado for first degree murder. It’s believed Regalado may be in the area of Buckeye possibly associated with a white Ford Focus or dark blue, newer model truck.
Citizens are asked to call their local law enforcement agency if Regalado is located.
Arrests Made in Arizona:
Three people were arrested in Buckeye, Arizona in the early morning hours of August 16, 2007.
Working with officers from the Buckeye and Goodyear police departments, investigators from the Arvada Police Department and Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office contacted three people at a home in Buckeye at 3:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2007.
Arrested – Thomas “Tommy” Anthony Garrison (DOB: 1/19/85) – Jeffco warrant for first degree murder
Arrested – Jeffrey Alan Wright (DOB: 6/29/82) – Jeffco warrant for accessory to first degree murder
*Arrested – 26-year-old female – *(arrested on warrant unrelated to homicide)
The individuals will be extradited to Colorado; however, a timeframe is not known at this time.
Synopsis of Crime:
Arvada police officers were called to the Castlegate apartment complex (7079 W. 84th Way) on a suspicious incident just before 8:00 p.m. on July 2, 2007.
The body of Shawn Joseph Rodriguez (DOB: 10/19/87) was discovered inside an apartment at the complex. Rodriguez had been shot and was pronounced dead by the Jefferson County Coroner.
There were no signs of forced entry into the apartment. It’s believed Rodriguez may have known or been acquainted with his assailant(s); however, the details of the relationship(s) are not being released at this time.
Because official documents related to the case have been sealed, specific information pertaining to the case is not releasable at this time.
