Arvada Police to Host Community Meeting: 64th/ward Rd.

The Arvada community surrounding 64th and Ward Rd. has experienced three significant events since July 2007.

  • Burger King Homicide
  • Three Teens Killed in Traffic Crash
  • Youth With A Mission Shootings

Understanding the magnitude of these incidents, members of the Arvada Police Department will host a community meeting at the Faith Bible Chapel (6210 Ward Rd.) in the auditorium on the EAST side of Ward Rd. on Thursday, January 17, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The purpose of the meeting is to talk about the safety of the neighborhood, provide general crime statistics, and to discuss ways to further problem solving efforts in the community.

“It’s important for the police department to meet with the community to engage in a general dialogue about the crimes impacting this area in recent months,” said Arvada Police Chief Don Wick.

Wick adds, “We know there are a number of questions surrounding the YWAM shootings; however, this remains an active investigation, and details involving the case are not yet releasable.”
