Arvada Police and Fire Joint Exercise Set for April 9
The recently vacated Arvada West High School building (7951 W. 65th Ave.) will be the site for a joint exercise involving police and fire personnel on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 beginning at 1:30 p.m.
The Arvada Police Department, Arvada Fire Protection District, the Jefferson County Regional S.W.A.T. Team and Jefferson County Schools will take part in a comprehensive exercise from 1:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the school.
Residents living in the area should note there will be dozens of emergency responders in the area along with police and fire equipment during the course of the training session.
There will be no live ammunition used during the 7-hour scenario; however, the Jefferson County Bomb Squad will be taking part in the exercise between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
