Academy Offers Teens Taste of Policing
Teens between the ages 16 and 18 will have a unique opportunity to learn about police work at the 2008 Teen Police Academy slated for July 21-25.
Members of the Arvada Police Department will teach students about many aspects of policing including building searches, arrest tactics and criminal law. The cost of the event $25 and students participating in the event will get a t-shirt.
The academy is open to students from Arvada, Arvada West, Pomona and Ralston Valley high schools as well as those who attend Faith Christian Academy.
To apply for the Teen Police Academy, students must have a valid driver’s license and a GPA of at least 2.0. Contact Deb Medina at 720-898-6673 for an application.
Only 25 students will be admitted, so apply today!
The deadline to apply is June 16.
