Do you have KATV channel 8 on your cable system? If so, you can watch the Arvada Police Department's semi annual awards ceremony throughout the month of June.

Police Chief Ron Sloan made nearly two dozen presentations to members of the Arvada Police Department as well as citizen making a difference in the community during the awards ceremony held on May 31, 2006.

To give you a glimpse of the caliber of awards given, Chief Sloan made a presentation to a 12-year-old Arvada girl who has raised more than $1,000 through a beaded bracelet fundraiser to support the Arvada Child Advocacy Center.

For those of you who would like to watch the ceremony, it will be broadcast on KATV Channel 8:
