Workers at the Subway sandwich shop at 15400 West 64th Avenue #E3 (near 64th and McIntyre) had an unexpected customer just before 11:00 a.m. when a 16-year-old driver of a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta drove through the front window of the building on January 31, 2006.

The driver - a Ralston Valley High School student - told police that her foot slipped off the brake and onto the gas pedal as she attempted to park. Her car jumped the curb and collided with the glass window of the building and then traveled into the restaurant roughly 26 feet.

The only people inside the Subway were three employees, and they were not injured as a result of the accident.

Neither the driver of the Jetta nor her 16-year-old female passenger was injured during the crash.

Police issued the teen a summons for careless driving.
