Cat Burglar Strikes Again! Public Asked to Help Identify Him
Two more Arvada homes were targeted by a thief called the "Cat Burglar" on Sunday night (June 26) in the 6400 block of Quaker Ct. and 6400 block of Russell Way in Arvada.
With these two latest hits, the total has now risen to 146 burglaries linked to a suspect targeting communities located to the northwest of Denver.
Due to the prolific nature of the suspect, investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying The Cat Burglar.
Since the beginning of this year, the suspect has been responsible for over 40 residential burglaries and attempts in Arvada, Broomfield, Jefferson County, Lafayette, Louisville, Thornton and Westminster. The suspect is also believed to be responsible for a number of additional burglaries that have occurred in these communities and the town of Superior, since late 2003.
The suspect has been active all days of the week. He has routinely entered homes through unlocked doors and windows, between roughly 11 p.m., and 7 a.m. and he has generally taken money from wallets and purses. The suspect has, on occasion, also stolen cigarettes.
Several witnesses have seen the suspect, and he is generally described as a slender, 5’8" to 6’ tall white male, who is believed to be in his 20’s.
The suspect has clearly spent a considerable amount of time roaming about in the affected communities while people were sleeping. People who know the suspect may be aware of his extensive nocturnal habits and familiarity with the affected communities. In addition, the suspect may have fabricated stories to account for being out at all hours of the night. If the suspect is employed, he may have routinely missed or been late for work.
With the above in mind, citizens are asked to contact authorities with any potentially relevant information, even if they believe it is trivial or it does not completely fit the details contained herein.
