A 73-year-old Denver man was killed in a traffic crash near 80th and Carr Street in Arvada on Saturday, October 8th just before 11:30 a.m.

According to police officers investigating the crash, the 73-year-old man was traveling westbound on 80th Avenue. He attempted to make a left hand turn and collided with a 18-year-old female driving a 2000 Red Ranger pickup truck heading eastbound on 80th Avenue.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 18-year-old female was taken to Lutheran Hospital for her injuries. Her condition isn’t known at this time; however, her injuries appear to be minor.

80th Avenue was closed for more than two hours while an Arvada Police Department accident team investigated the crash.

The accident is under investigation.
