Shot Fired at Taco Bell, No One Injured

An early morning argument between two men in the drive-thru at the Taco Bell restaurant near 88th and Wadsworth Blvd ended with a shot being fired, but no one injured just after 2:00 a.m. on Monday, May 30.

The suspect, Larry Lunnon, a 54-year old Arvada man, driving a white Honda Civic and waiting in the drive-thru, confronted a man in his early 20s driving a truck, also in the drive-thru of the fast food restaurant.

During the course of the argument between the two men, the suspect brandished a handgun. The victim grabbed the gun, and as the two men struggled for the weapon, it discharged.

Police arrived on-scene and placed the 54-year old male suspect into custody.

While an Arvada police officer searched the suspect’s car, he found a suspicious looking device inside the vehicle. The Jefferson County Bomb Squad was called to the scene, and later determined that the device was a hoax.

Lunnon faces a number of charges including reckless endangerment, illegal discharge of a firearm, felony menacing and possession of an incendiary device (hoax)

The investigation is on-going at this time.

Lunnon was taken to the Jefferson County Jail.
