American Job Center Hosts Three Day Hiring Academy for Veterans

The American Job Center, serving Jefferson, Clear Creek, and Gilpin Counties, invites veterans and businesses to participate in the Add-A-Veteran Academy November 4th-6th. The Academy will give Veterans and their spouses the opportunity to learn the latest and most effective job search strategies and to network with prospective employers

 

Day 1: Monday, November 4, 2013; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Presentations by leading facilitators to help veterans get the maximum impact from the job search and to provide necessary tools to get THE JOB. Guest speakers include Don Strankowski from Ascend Career and Life Strategies and Beatrice Bruno, author and also known as the “Drill Sergeant of Life.”

Day 2: Tuesday, November 5, 2013; 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Hiring event exclusively for veteran attendees and their spouses. At least 25 employers are expected to be in attendance with job openings in a variety of occupations.

Day 3: Wednesday, November 6, 2013; 8:00 a.m. - noon 
Veterans and their spouses will learn effective follow up strategies for the jobs and employers contacted at the hiring event.  Staff will also be available to offer assistance with individual job search questions.
