ARVADA, CO – On Saturday,
June 30 at 7:30 p.m. the Arvada Center welcomes Rusty Evans and Ring of
Fire to its outdoor amphitheater for an evening of rockabilly folk music that will
bring everyone to their feet. This concert is sponsored by Fidelity Investments
With a voice of rolling thunder and a
spirit like gentle rain, Rusty Evans has been wowing audiences everywhere with
his stunning tribute to the "Man in Black." A rockin' lead guitar by Evans' son
Danny, driving bass and pulsating drums make up the energetic three piece band Ring of Fire. With Evans' own touch added
to Cash's world-famous songs such as "I Walk the Line" and "Folsom Prison Blues,"
this is sure to be a memorable concert under the stars.
In the 1960's Evans wrote and
produced the underground classic "I'm Five Years Ahead of My Time." In 1997,
the song found its way to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's top 100 songs for
the 30 year anniversary of the summer of love. A two month tour of Australia and New Zealand in 2001, another tour of Europe in 2002 and the release of his CD, I'm Comin' Home, placed him in the #2
position of most played indie country artist on the European charts.
Rusty Evans' musical endeavors
include performing on Dick Clark's American
Bandstand, jamming with Bob Dylan in Greenwich Village and producing and recording for CBS,
Reprise and Folkways/Smithsonian record labels. A meeting with Johnny Cash
strongly influenced his singing and has helped shaped the sounds of Ring of Fire.
Tickets are $34 for reserved covered
seats and $18 for general admission on the lawn. For tickets, call the Arvada Center box office at (720) 898-7200 or
