February 25, 2006
Plans are currently under way for the 16th Annual Children's Charity Ball to be held at the Arvada Center February 25, 2005. Our 2006 theme is "Rat Pack Ritz Invites You to Las Vegas Glitz: Cocktails, Cuisine, and Casino Night!
" A casino, "Rat Pack" lounge entertainment, delicious food and drink, and a silent auction are all part of the evening.
Our purpose is to "Give a Voice to a Child Who is Not Heard". The Arvada Child Advocacy Center, founded in 1990 through funds raised by Children’s Charity serves as a child-centered, safe environment for interviewing young victims of sexual abuse. The Center offers all the necessary services to provide a thorough investigation under one roof, so as not to re-traumatize victims and their families during this process. The Center’s professional staff consists of a Forensic Therapist, Pediatrician, Victim Advocate and Center Coordinator. The Child Advocacy Center opens its' doors to any agency requesting assistance and at no cost for these services. There are no geographical service boundaries. Arvada Center’s Accessibility Program provides enhanced art experiences for individuals with disabilities. Children with disabilities have the same opportunities to experience the arts as able-bodied children. The program includes interpreted gallery tours, classes in American Sign Language, shadowed and audio described theater and tactile visual arts.
Over the course of 15 years, the Charity Ball has helped raise almost $400,000 for these two amazing charities, assisting communities throughout the entire metro and front-range areas. Children’s Charity is a non-profit organization driven entirely by volunteer work.
