What is a Comprehensive Plan?
The Arvada Comprehensive Plan is the City’s guiding policy document with respect to how the community should develop in the future. It is used by the City in reviewing land use proposals and serves as a guide in public investment decisions over a 5 - 7 year period. The Comprehensive Plan is updated every few years to take into account changing economic and demographic conditions and issues facing the City in the future. The first plan was adopted in 1964 and since that time, the plan has been amended five times.
