Arvada Police Historical Museum Updated

Take a step into the past when you visit the latest installment of the Arvada Police Department's historical display located near the police lobby in Arvada's City Hall complex at 8101 Ralston Road.

Pictures, news clips and other pieces of memorabilia comprise the case showing everything from the first handcuffs used by Arvada police officers to a radar gun for traffic officers in the late 1970's.

"It's amazing to see the past come to life through tributes to some of the department's most well-known officers such as Ed McCarthy," said Deputy Chief Lynn Johnson.

One of the other items of interest in the case is an award from Westword newspaper for "Best 'Cop' Museum."

This is the third update of the case since it was constructed in 2002
