Atomic Art Exhibit Opening Reception at Rocky Flats Cold War Museum

Exploring the paranoia of the atomic 1950s and 1960s in America, Doug Waterfield’s exhibit of oil and acrylic paintings, titled This is not a Test: The Atomic Art of Doug Waterfield, will open Friday, April 19, with a wine and cheese reception. The cost to attend the reception is $20.

Waterfield’s work has been shown nationally over the past 25 years. In 2011, his works were exhibited at the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History in Albuquerque, N.M. The series will also be exhibited at the Cold War Air Museum in Lancaster, Texas, in the summer of 2013, and at the Museum of Nebraska Art (MONA) in the summer of 2014.

The exhibit will run from April 19-May 31. Opening hours: Wednesday through Saturday from 12-5 pm. Admission to the museum is free!
