Experienced performers are needed with strong acting abilities. Three adult women’s roles are available.
is mid-20s to late 40s. All characters are Irish. Please audition with Irish Accent. Complete character descriptions (see attached) can also be found online at www.arvadacenter.org/auditions. This is an equity production, although non-equity actors may audition. Some roles may be pre-cast.
Actors should prepare a one-minute monologue appropriate to the characters of this particular show. Be prepared for possible cold readings. A headshot and a resume are required. No scripts are available.
Rehearsals for The Crimson Thread begin on March 22. The show opens April 12 and runs through May 8, Tuesday through Saturday evenings with matinees on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, for a total of eight shows per week.

Character Descriptions for The Crimson Thread
Bridgett: late 20-30ish, 8½ months pregnant with 6th child, imaginative, strong, rebel out of seeing destruction of culture (rebel within her boundaries, a bit of a renegade), proud, storyteller, stuck with her life but determined to fight for her family, envious of Eilis’s possibilities.
Eilis: mid 20s: fearful of unknown at the same time strong, raising her family alone, about to leave though she wants to stay where she knows her life. Depends on her sister.
Kathleen: 28, broken, has deep soulful life, also has gift of stories, despair at her loss of husband, betrayed.
Fionnuala: 23, determined, lighter quality, strong and heartfelt.
Maggie: late 20s – mid-30s: Feminist in 1911, Union organizer, unconventional, devoted to cause, lives with a man but will not admit love, pulled by a cause, passionate, has been in prison.
Nora:early-mid 20s: family tie, conventional marriage, out of town for the first time, emotional.
