Awards and Recognitions

KATV Channel 8, Arvada's own local government access cable channel, is the recipient of many local and national awards for excellence.

One of our proudest moments came in September of 2003, when KATV was named the winner in the Overall Excellence in Government Programming awards hosted annually by the National Association of Telecommunication Officers and Advisors (NATOA). there is no higher recognition in the nation for government access television.

Each year, KATV Channel 8 takes home many awards from NATOA, the City/County and Communications Marketing Association (3CMA), the National Association of Government Communicators (NAGC), the Waveland Awards, and more, not only for overall excellence but for individual programs. Cop Talk is KATV's most awarded program, followed by The A-files and Let's Talk with Ed Sardella.

At the September 2008 NATOA Awards, KATV took third place in the Community Event Coverage category for Cop Talk - Emily's Run; third place in the Public Safety category for Cop Talk - Rolling DUI; and third place in the Seniors category for A-Files - Silver Sneakers.
