The City of Arvada and the Arvada Bicycle Advisory
Group Bike Ride Schedule
There are three different categories of rides: a ride for less experienced adult cyclists; a family ride perfect for all ages; and "Fast and Furious" rides for more experienced teenage and adult cyclists.
- Family ride: Family rides are designed for all ages and abilities. These rides move a little slower so less experienced riders and children can get familiar with riding techniques.
Saturday, August 10: This ride is just over 6 miles and runs along the Ralston Creek/Clear Creek trail network. This area offers stunning creek views. The ride will be an out and back with the turnaround point at scenic Lowell Ponds. We will stop at Lowell Ponds for a break and snacks. Please meet in the parking lot on the east side of Memorial Park.
- Less experienced adult cyclists: Haven’t been on a bike in awhile? Thinking about getting back in the saddle again? These rides are for you. They are designed to build confidence and remind you of the joy of cycling. They will cover 6 miles or less and are primarily on the trail system, with a few low volume streets thrown in.
Saturday, September 14: Meet at Memorial Park, 59th Avenue and Ammons Street in the north parking lot. This ride will be a combination of off-street trails, low volume streets with bike lanes, and very low volume residential streets. The route follows the Ralston Creek Trail to Oak Street, then returns via West 66th Avenue to Independence Street and back to the start via Brooks Drive.
- Fast and Furious rides: These rides are tailored for the more experienced cyclist. The rides will be 20+ miles and will include both street and trail riding. Riders must be experienced in riding with traffic on busier roads. These rides will take place on the same dates as the other rides. Courses will be announced soon. Stay tuned to Arvada.org and the Bicycle Advisory Group Facebook Page.
All rides begin at 9:00 a.m. All riders must sign a release. Helmets are required.
