ARVADA, CO – Today, December 13, 2013, the City of Arvada announced it is accepting applications to fill the unexpired term of its City Council District 1 seat. The seat was left vacant by Council Member Rachel Zenzinger’s resignation. Zenzinger left her council position to accept the Colorado State Senate District 19 seat, replacing Evie Hudack who resigned November 27.
Applicants interested in the position shall submit a letter addressed to the Arvada City Council through the City Clerk’s Office. Applicants must have resided in District 1 for the past one (1) year and meet all other qualifications as set out in the Arvada City Charter. Applications will be accepted by the City Clerk’s Office until 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, at 8101 Ralston Road, Arvada, CO 80002. The term for the Arvada City Council District 1 seat will be from the date of the appointee taking the Oath of Office until the City of Arvada’s next regular election in November, 2015.
