ARVADA, Colo. – It was a hit on Broadway, in Washington, D.C., Hong Kong, Scotland, New Zealand and beyond. Now Denver metro audiences can revel in the hilarious and visually stunning antics of the Fred Garbo Inflatable Theater Co. for two performances only, at the Arvada Center on March 13 at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
International performance artists Fred Garbo and Daielma Santos combine the science of inflation with the grace of dance to create a truly original spectacle. Mr. Garbo is a man of many talents; a master of comic timing and vaudevillian-style performance, he is also an expert juggler and skilled illusionist. For the last 13 years, he has been inventing gigantic, inflatable, colorful, morphing props to use in his productions.
Ms. Santos, a professional ballerina, has served as principal dancer with the Opera Paulista Company of Saõ Paulo and is a continuing guest artist with the Portland, Maine Ballet Company.In addition to performing, she is acclaimed as a talented choreographer and teacher. The team has toured the world, eliciting raves from critics and audiences alike and inducing side-splitting laughter in people of all ages.
