Jeffrey Siegel Keyboard Conversations opens the 25th Anniversary Season with
Arvada CO – Jeffrey Siegel presents Keyboard Conversations®, begins the 25th Anniversary Season on October 3 with Spellbinding Bach, a concert filled with high-voltage, romantic compositions Bach wrote to “wow” his listeners with his stunning virtuosity and deeply expressive music. The evening includes the exhilarating Toccata in D, the vivacious Italian Concerto, and the soul-stirring Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue. You won’t want to miss this delightful evening, a perfect way to begin another wonderful series of concerts from the master pianist, Jeffrey Siegel. Performance time is 7:30 p.m. in the Main Stage Theater. Tickets range from $29 - $34. For ticket and additional information, call the Arvada Center box office at 720-898-7200 or go online to www.arvadacenter.org/on-stage. 25th anniversary season subscriptions are still available through the box office.
Jeffrey Siegel presents Keyboard Conversations® is a unique concert-plus-commentary format in which Siegel speaks to the audience about the music before performing each work in its entirety. Newcomers to classical concerts have greeted these programs enthusiastically, as they present an informal, accessible and highly entertaining introduction to the vast repertoire of the piano and to classical music in general. Mr. Siegel has also developed a following among seasoned music-lovers, who are constantly enlightened by his erudition and delighted by his wit.
"As we approach the 25th season of Keyboard Conversations at the Arvada Center it seems to me that in this now very robotic, computerized, age the need for what great music offers is much greater than when I started doing these programs at the Center a quarter century ago.” said Jeffrey Siegel, “Whether a novice or an avid fan of classical music, one has a greater need than ever to enrich one's life with the greatest music ever written. It is a privilege to do these programs at the Arvada Center, both for the loyal audience that attends, and the newcomers who are attracted to these accessible classical music programs."
The 25th season continues on November 7, with an evening of Claude Debussy: Clair De Lune, Fireworks, and Beyond! In addition to the beloved Clair de lune and dazzling Fireworks, this program offers the humorous homage to Samuel Pickwick, the enchanting Girl with the Flaxen Hair, and the climactic Isle of Joy.
On March 6, 2013 Schubert in the Age of the Sound Bite comes into the Arvada Center. In this robotic, impersonal, computerized age, the glorious melodies, incandescent harmonies, and heavenly visions of Schubert’s music affect us ever more deeply.
Join us for the final show of Siegel’s 25th season on May 8, 2013 with Listen to the Dance: Waltzes, Marches, Polkas, and Tangos! Dances for the ears! Music of Schubert, Strauss, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Albéniz, and John Philip Sousa’s stupendous Stars and Stripes Forever.
