Lighting Up the Holidays in Need of Help

The City of Arvada's Lighting Up the Holidays program is set to provide gifts to a record number of children this Christmas season and they need your help to make this year's toy drive a success.

"With the financial struggles facing families in Arvada, we are certain to pass the record-breaking number of 258 kids from the last year's Lighting Up the Holidays program," said Carrie Brady, co-coordinator of the program and member of the Arvada Police Department.

It's not too early to take a moment to call and adopt a child who is part of the Lighting Up the Holidays program.

To donate new toys, adopt a child or children, or learn more about how you can contribute to the 2009 Lighting Up the Holidays event, please call 720-898-7586 or e-mail

Gifts will be delivered by Santa, Mrs. Claus, elves, police officers and other City of Arvada employees just before Christmas.  The drop off site for toys is Downtown Toys and Games at 5515 Olde Wadsworth Blvd.
