CPAAA Executive Board Meeting
May 19, 2010

The Meeting was called to order at 6:00pm by Normalee Lee, Chair.

Secretary's Report - Nancy Mayer for Maureen Tooher
The April 8, 2010 minutes were approved as written.
Treasurer's Report - Nancy Mayer
Nancy submitted a financial report with an April 2010 ending balance of $4554.26 and a current Alumni Membership Roster showing 99 members. Normalee gave Nancy a check for a new membership she received at the Kite Fest.
Deb Hamilton told the board that CPAAA vests would not be ordered anymore due to lack of interest by the alumni. Normalee suggested we take a look at long sleeve shirts for future purchase.
Normalee turned in reimbursement paperwork for CPAAA expenses that she paid for herself.
The Treasurer's reports were approved.
Chair's Report - Normalee Lee
Normalee met with Kathy Foos regarding volunteer opportunities and details will be on the website. Jim Lancy is looking for 20 volunteers for Search Teams to assist the Arvada PD. There will be four teams of 5 volunteers and the training provided would be every other month. Nancy Mayer suggested an article in the CPAAA newsletter with the job description and requirements eg. polygraph test.
Marilyn Maring will be assisting with the next Murder Mystery Dinner and asked that people contact her with suggestions, comments, etc.

Vice Chair's Report - Lloyd Ferguson - unable to attend this meeting
PD Liaison Report - Sgt. AJ DeAndrea
AJ discussed the requirements for Gary Busch and his staff for the 5/22 car detailing. Gary and AJ planned to check the storage shed for supplies tonight.
AJ discussed his schedule and its demands; Pat Claar will fill in for him when he's unavailable.
-2011 National Conference update by Nancy Mayer "tabled" due to General Meeting at 7pm and lack of discussion time
- Nancy Mayer has 5 years of financials and will start working on CPAAA 5013c status

Gary Busch mentioned that our website needs a little TLC and he provided Normalee with some examples to discuss with Sandy Kline, CPAAA volunteer webmaster.
Nancy Mayer provided everyone a copy of an e-mail to Normalee dated 5/4/10 that outlined AT&T's Moment of Excellence Program that we might tweak for our own use for volunteer/peer recognition. Comments and suggestions will be discussed at the June 10th board meeting.
Car detailing on 5/22
Arvada Police Awards Ceremony on 5/24. Top three entries in the CPAAA's 2nd Annual Officer Appreciation Contest were selected. The 2nd graders chosen were: Gloria Burck, Will McDonough, and Alexis Sprenger.
