Arvada police are investigating a spree of car break-in incidents occurring late night Thursday, January 6, and/or the early morning hours of Friday, January 7, 2011, in the area of 64th and Ward Road in the city.
Police have received more than 15 reports of first degree criminal trespass incidents from residents living in the area located in the western portion of the city.
Items stolen include electronics, such as iPods, personal property and cash.
It appears that in some of the cases vehicles were left unlocked; however, entry was forced into vehicles in several of the incidents.
Here is a list of the hundred blocks of where the car break-ins have been reported thus far.
While no suspects have been identified in this string of car break-ins, Arvada Police patrol officers, especially those working the overnight hours, made more than 30 arrests of car break-in suspects in 2010.
Police urge residents to take three steps in reducing the number of car break-ins in the city:
1)Always lock your doors
2)Never leave items of value in your car (even stashed under seats or in the trunk).
3)Report suspicious activity in your neighborhood to police.
