The Arvada Police Department is investigating several night time burglaries that occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 27th, 2012 in the 13800 block of West 64th Drive.
In all the cases entry was made through an unlocked back door.
All of the victims were home at the time, but were sleeping and unaware their houses were entered until they woke.
Investigators believe all the burglaries are related based on their close proximity to each other and method of entry.
With the mild climate residents may be tempted to leave doors and windows open.
All residents are reminded to close and lock doors and windows to their homes and sheds. Roll up car door windows and lock all car doors. Do not leave anything valuable in your vehicle(s). Prior to retiring for the evening close and lock garage doors and backyard gates.
Target harden your home, vehicle(s) and property and make it difficult and inconvenient for others to gain entry and/or make you a victim.
The Arvada Police Department's Community Response Impact Team offers a Crime Prevention Class as well as a Crime Free Multi-Housing Class. The next classes will be October 2 and October 23. To find out more or to register, click .
