’s Theatre Arts and Dance department are pleased to announce the Second Annual Playwrights Showcase of the Western Region will be held at the
on August 12 -14, 2005.
A Call for Entries for the Showcase is underway. Play submissions will be accepted through
March 1, 2005
. The categories include Shorts, One-Acts, Full-Lengths and Children’s plays. Approximately 25 scripts will be selected for presentation in staged readings. Submissions must be original works by playwrights who reside in one of the western states being represented. Additionally, the submitted work must not have had professional production. Those selected will be notified by
May 15, 2005
This unique partnership between a college and an arts center has been created to support the original work of playwrights living in the western states of:

The three-day event is designed for playwrights, producers, directors, actors, educators and community members who are interested in sharing in an experience that celebrates contemporary theatre arts. Conference attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in workshops and network with their peers.

. The Theatre Arts and Dance department at Red Rocks Community College encompasses basic training in all aspects of theatre including performance and technical theatre. Associate degrees and certificates in musical theatre, general theatre arts, theatre technology and costumes are available.
