The final leg of the 3-race, .5K (point 5K) endurance challenge to benefit Ralston House is set for Saturday, July 9 at the Lakewood Cultural Center, 470 S. Allison Parkway, at 10 a.m.
The fastest race you'll ever experience, the .5K (point 5K) will start and finish in less than 10 minutes.
Registration and pancakes begin at 8:30 a.m. Vendors will be on hand to provide everything from snacks and water to chair massages and nail art.
The coveted Golden Shoe awards will be presented following the race. There will also be gift certificates for the most pledge money collected and other prizes.
"This has become a true community event where businesses, service organizations and residents come together to help an outstanding cause," said Don Moseley, Executive Director of Ralston House. "If you've never taken part in this race, I would encourage you to join us and see what the fun is about."
Proceeds benefit Ralston House. Ralston House is a family-friendly, safe and neutral environment where trained professionals provide medical examinations and conduct forensic interviews, in partnership with law enforcement and social services, of children who've been physically or sexually abused.
More than 800 children and their families were served in 2010, helping them begin the healing process from these traumatic events.

Hundreds of runners, walkers and strollers took part in the 5th annual (point) .5K to benefit Ralston House Olde Town Arvada on Saturday, June 11, 2011. The three-block race lasted a total of 10 minutes.
A pancake breakfast ensured (point) .5K racers had enough energy to complete the course that stretched more than 300 steps.
The coveted Golden Shoe awards were presented to racers including the youngest (7 months) and oldest (91 years) participants. First and last place finishers also received Golden Shoes.
