, a workshop he attended in Santiago de Cuba, and his perceptions of this rich cross-cultural experience.
In May 2005, Barry Krzywicki, an instructor at Arapahoe Community College and the Arvada Center, was invited to participate in Terracotta 2005
. For the past 19 years, Cuban and foreign ceramic artists have been invited to work, participate and exchange ideas at this special workshop for two weeks in the vibrant city of Santiago. After the workshop, Barry met with other studio and production clay artists in Havana, Camaguey, and Trinidad to learn more about Cuban ceramics. He has also broadened his knowledge of the art form by visiting folk potters on five continents and researching the pottery and ceramics of other countries.
