Street Sweeping Requests
City streets are swept according to seasonal schedules. To report a street that needs to be swept, please call the Street Division at 720-898-7720.
Summer Street Sweeping Schedule
Beginning in mid April and ending in mid October we will sweep each City street every four to six weeks.
Fall Street Sweeping Schedule
From mid October to mid November our street sweeping priority is to reduce the amount of leaves that end up in our storm sewer system. Areas of the City with many mature trees are usually swept more than once but we try to sweep all of the City streets at least once during this period.
Winter Street Sweeping Schedule
From mid November to the mid April our street sweeping priority is the snowplow routes after winter storms. Our goal is to sweep up the sand within four days after each winter storm so that the City is in compliance with Denver regional area air quality guidelines. Sometimes very cold weather and continuous snowstorms cause the street sweeping to be delayed. Residential streets are not on our snowplow routes but we try to sweep all of the residential streets at least once from mid-March to the end of April.
Central Business District Street Sweeping Schedule
The Olde Town Arvada streets is swept every two weeks between the hours of 4 a.m. and 6 a.m., weather permitting. High volume traffic intersection and City Facility parking lots are also swept every two weeks early in the morning.
We Need Your Help
- Raking or blowing leaves into the street is not allowed by the City. The street sweepers will sweep around piles or a row of leaves in the street.
- Please trim your trees and shrubs to a height of 12 feet above the curb to avoid damaging our equipment. The street sweepers will sweep around low hanging branches.
- Please trim your shrubs and vegetation back from the curb. The street sweepers will sweep around vegetation that overhangs the curb and is in the gutter area.
- If you can move your vehicles off the street it will help us sweep up the debris.
