Arvada Teen Court Wants You

Teens: Do You Like to Argue?

  • Are you between 14 and 17 years old?
  •   Are you interested in the law?
  • Can you listen carefully and then deliberate based on evidence?
  • Do you want to improve your public speaking skills?
  • Could your resume or college application use a boost?
  • Do you need to gain NJHS and NHS community service hours?

If you answered "Yes" to any of the above questions, then Arvada Teen Court wants you!

Teen court provides justice for teens, by teens. Teen Court defendants are first-time offenders who agree to participate in the program. Their real-life misdemeanor crimes might include theft, disorderly conduct, or throwing missiles. The sentences imposed by a jury of their peers are binding.

Teen Court volunteer opportunites include acting as a juror, bailiff, prosecuting attorney, and defense attorney. Volunteers also have an opportunity to be part of a magistrate panel. Visit the City of Arvada website for more information: arvada.org/about-arvada/teen-court.
