ARVADA, CO – The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities will hold auditions for Defiance on Monday, July 9, 2007 and Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at the Arvada Center. This production will be directed by Jane Page.
Equity auditions will be held on July 9 from 11:00 a.m. – Noon. Open auditions will be held on July 9 from Noon – 4:00 p.m. and July 12 from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Auditions are by appointment only and can be scheduled by calling (720) 898-7200.
Experienced performers with strong acting abilities are needed. Roles are available for one woman in her late 40's, and five men – two men in their mid-20's, one being African-American, one man in his mid-30's, one man mid-40's, one man mid-50's. Character descriptions can be found below. This is an equity production, although non-equity actors may audition. Actors should prepare a one-minute monologue appropriate to the period and style of this particular show. A headshot and a resume are required. No scripts are available through the theater.
Rehearsals for Defiance begin on September 15, 2007. The show opens October 2, 2007 and runs through November 4, 2007, Tuesday through Saturday evenings with matinees on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays for a total of eight shows per week.
The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities is one of the metro area's largest cultural attractions, devoted to all aspects of the arts. It is generously supported by the Scientific & Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) and located two and a half miles north of Interstate 70 on Wadsworth Blvd.
