ARVADA, Colo. – The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities hosts zany, multi-talented vaudevillian, Garry Krinsky, for two performances of “Toying with Science” on Sunday, March 28, at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. in the indoor theater.
Garry Krinsky’s “Toying with Science” is a fast-paced, entertaining leap into the world of science. During the program, Krinsky brings his science toys to life with motion, music, humor and insight. Through singing, blowing a kazoo, miming, dancing, juggling and audience participation, Krinsky animates the scientific principles of gravity and leverage. He turns audience members into stars as he playfully welcomes them into his colorful world. Krinsky performs original up-beat songs that explore fulcrums, levers and basic mechanics. He also performs daring feats, such as balancing five ladders at one time on his chin, to demonstrate how to find the center of gravity.
With his animation and non-stop energy, Garry Krinsky has often been compared to a cartoon character. Krinsky was an original member of the Boston Buffoons, a co-founder of the Patchwork Players and a member of The Wright Bros.—the New England vaudeville troupe. Since 1978, Krinsky has brought his charisma and dynamic performances to thousands of schools, theaters and festivals and has even been seen on NBC’s “Today” show.
Tickets for the performance are $14 per person. For more information or to purchase tickets call the Arvada Center box office at 720-898-7200 or visit the Center’s website at www.arvadacenter.org.
