Two Officers Join Arvada Police Department
Two new officers joined the Arvada Police Department on October 6, 2011. Both brought experience and dedication to law enforcement as they took the oath for their new policing positions with Arvada. 

Officer Will Burcher comes to Arvada after serving as a member of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.  Burcher also attended the Sheriff’s Academy where he received high academic honors. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics from CU-Boulder. 

Officer Janay Gasparini worked for the New Paltz and Poughkeepsie Police Departments in New York before pursuing her dream of living in Colorado. Gasparini earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice before qualifying in a civil service exam for a regional New York police academy where she achieved “Top Cop” status.  She completed a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice through Boston University and taught at a New York community college. 

Both will be assigned to the Arvada Police Department’s Patrol Unit.
