The Colorado Department of Transportation close W. 56th Avenue at the Wadsworth Bypass on Tuesday, November 14, 2006, and it will remain closed for approximately 9 months (until summer 2007).
The closure is part of the construction project that will separate the Wadsworth Bypass from Grandview Avenue and the railroad tracks. CDOT and it's construction contractor need to close the road so that it can be lowered to the new grade of the Wadsworth Bypass and to allow for the construction of the storm water drainage system required for the underpass.
Detours are posted and all businesses along W. 56th Avenue will remain open and access will be accommodated during the project.
