The Heat is On with the Arvada Center’s 2005 Summer Concert Series
ARVADA , CO – The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities announces its 2005 Summer Concert Series—an eclectic mix of music presented outdoors under the dazzling Rocky Mountain skies. Hailed as one of “101 Things You’ve Gotta Do in Denver” by 5280 magazine, the series will feature seven concerts in a variety of music styles, from Celtic and western swing to Latin jazz, bluegrass and classic rock. Tickets go on sale to the public Monday, April 25. The 2005 Summer Concert Series is presented by Freedom Harley Davidson, Inc. Concert details, including dates and prices follow:

Chorale and Brian Tate present “World Beat”
Celtic tunes, African-American spirituals, gospel and jazz will light up the stage when the Chorale kicks off the summer concert season with special guest Brian Tate. A vocalist and percussionist from
Vancouver
, Tate is like a one-man band, choir and orchestra. By augmenting his voice electronically, he can record and overlap a multitude of vocal tracks all in real time. Every note is created live, in the moment. The Chorale is a volunteer, resident company of the
Arvada
Center
for the Arts and Humanities.

The Poncho Sanchez Latin Jazz Band

Southern Exposure with Chris Hillman and Herb Pederson
Whether playing traditional bluegrass classics or contemporary tunes with a bluegrass flavor, Southern Exposure is always an audience favorite. The superb harmonies of Chris Hillman (The Byrds) and Herb Pedersen (whose clear tenor has graced the albums of Vince Gill, Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris and James Taylor to name a few) round out this evening of comedy and bluegrass.

Travis LeDoyt and The Alley Cats
Return to the past as Travis LeDoyt, who has been called “the World’s Best Young Elvis,” captures the essence of The King in his prime. The Alley Cats, a Doo Wop group bringing their own style and humor to great classics from the 50s and 60s, will open with an act that truly is “the cat’s meow.”

A barbecue dinner is available from the Arvada Center ’s catering service for a cost of $9.50 in advance or $10.50 at the concert. Meals can be ordered when purchasing tickets. In compliance with city regulations, no alcoholic beverages or glass containers can be brought into the amphitheater. The Arvada Center offers beer and wine service. Concessions open at 6:00 p.m. Patrons are welcome to bring their own meals to the performances.
Both covered and lawn seats are available for summer concerts. Beach chairs are rented on a first-come, first-serve basis for lawn patrons at a cost $2. Audience members may bring their own chairs only if the chairs have no legs and are not over 26” in height. All chairs are subject to the approval of the house manager. Amphitheater gates open at 6:30 p.m.
