Arvada's crime rate is low compared to other Denver metro area cities. The serious nature of crimes such as weapons violations, domestic violence, aggravated assaults and other crimes, however, are up from previous years.
The Arvada Police Department is an accredited agency through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). The department has achieved accreditation status for an unprecedented seventh time and represents the first Colorado law enforcement organization to achieve such an illustrious status.
